Broad St. (Legion Field Area)
Redevelopment of West Broad Street, from Borough Hall to Legion Field
Borough Council has recently approved the footprint for the South Broad St area. The Vision for the Legion Field includes a centralized open air pavilion surrounded by reconfigured ball fields. The ball fields include a dedicated little league field with bleachers, a dedicated softball field with bleachers and storage, a dedicated softball field and a football/multipurpose field. Basketball courts, a unique skatepark area and hockey rink surround the fields.
The area between Walnut and Chestnut would include an angled walkway that would lead past tennis courts and a tot lot to a central pavilion with a fountain.
The vision for the Broad St Area includes a Senior/Community Center next to the Borough Hall. Broad street, in front of the borough hall, will be made one way and over one hundred additional angled parking spots would be added.
This footprint will be completed in stages and will transform our town truly into a place to Grow. The Borough is seeking grants and alternate funding sources to complete this transformation.
