POLICE BLOTTER


02/02/12 @1404 HRS.


Palmyra units were dispatched to a residence on West Second Street for suspicious activity.  The caller reported that a young male was trying to break into that residence.  The caller also advised that the male had been on a bicycle which was leaning on a tree in the front yard of the residence.  Units quickly arrived and got out with a male fitting the description given by the caller.  The subject, John McBride- an 18 year old Cinnaminson resident, advised police that he was looking for a lost dog in the area but could not give any specifics as to who the dog belonged to.  Officer's conducted a pat down of the subject who, when asked if he had anything on him, showed police that he was in possession of a prescription pill bottle which did not belong to him.  He also had in his waistband the mailing package which the pill bottle was mailed in. 


The mailing package was addressed to a resident on West Second Street.  John McBride advised police that he had stolen the medication from the front porch of the residence.  When police asked about the bicycle he had been riding, McBride at first advised that it was his bike then quickly changed his story and stated that it was his friends.  Officers checked with the friend/owner to see if he knew that McBride had the bicycle.  The owner of the bicycle had no idea it was gone and advised that McBride must have gone into his backyard on Delaware Avenue to take the bike without his knowledge. 


McBride was placed under arrest for the Burglary and Theft on West Second Street.  He was also charged with Burglary and Theft on Delaware Avenue for the bicycle.  The total bail set for all four charges was $40,000.  John McBride was unable to post the required amount of bail and was ultimately lodged in Burlington County Jail. 


 


On 01/30/12 at approximately 0845 hrs., Palmyra patrol units responded to an attempted luring call.  An 18 year old student was walking to Palmyra High School on Vine Street when she noticed a blue mini van pull up next to her.  The driver of the van was described as being a black male in his mid-late 20's, having a close cut beard, black hair, and brown eyes.  The driver was wearing a black jacket and driving a dark blue minivan with tinted rear windows.  The driver stopped and asked the student if he could be her friend.  The student ignored the male and continued walking.  She stated the the van then pulled to the next corner on Vine Street and parked.  The student, concerned with the drivers intentions, then quickly turned back around and walked home to report this incident to her mother.

01/29/2012 @ 11:31 While on patrol, a Palmyra Officer conducted an investigative motor vehicle stop on Route 73 south for a non-moving violation.  The officer obtained both the driver and passengers information and ran both subjects for outstanding warrants.  The passenger,  Angelo L. Maldonado of Merchantville, came back with two outstanding warrants for his arrest.  The first warrant was out of Merchantville Borough Court with a bail of $250,000 for an outstanding Burglary charge.  The second was out of Pennsauken Municipal Court and the bail was $500 for a motor vehicle violation.  Mr. Maldonado was taken into custody without incident on the outstanding warrants and ultimately turned over to Merchantville Borough Police Department.


01/24/2012 @0129 HRS.


Palmyra Police got out with a suspicious vehicle that had been parked for an extended period of time in the area of West Fourth and Race Streets.  The vehicle had 4 passenger occupants but the driver had gone into a house in the area.  As officers were speaking with the passengers, a strong odor of freshly burnt marijuana could be smelled from the interior of the vehicle.  The front seat passenger, Gary Boone, had been asked to exit the vehicle to speak with officers away from the other occupants.  As Boone was getting out of the vehicle, the officer saw that Boone was holding something in his hand.  He turned to walk back towards the rear of the vehicle and leaned down to the rear seat passenger and appeared to drop something on the rear floor of the vehicle.  Officers immediately became cautious and investigated what had been dropped.  In plain view on the rear floor of the vehicle was a purple topped glass vial containing suspected marijuana.  


The driver eventually came back to the vehicle and was advised of what officers had observed.  The driver of the vehicle allowed police to search the interior of the vehicle by signing a consent to search form.  Officers conducted a search of the vehicle which revealed a hand rolled marijuana cigarette in the ashtray and the glass vial that had been seen on the rear floor. 


The front seat passenger, 21 year old Gary Boone of Burlington, was placed under arrest for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.  He was processed back at the station and released on a Summons pending court. 


 


01/19/2012 @ 1121 hrs.


A resident of the 700 block of Morgan Ave came home to find a male subject in the kitchen going through drawers.  The subject then attempted to steal the victim's purse and fought with the victim over her purse.  The subject then fled the home.  The victim provided police dispatchers with a description of the subject.  Officers located a subject, Jose Santos , age 41 of North Park Ave, Pennsauken at the Palmyra Light Rail Station.  Mr. Santos was in possession of the victims lap top computer and was identified by the victim. 


Mr. Santos was taken into custody and charged burglary, robbery, and possession burglary tools.  Mr. Santos was lodged in Burlington County Jail on $125,000.00. 


Mr. Santos was released from Burlington County Jail on August 4, 2011 for the June 28th burglary and robbery of a Palmyra resident.


 


01/15/2012 @ 2119 hrs.


On 01/15/2012 at approximately 2119 hrs., a Palmyra Officer got out with a vehicle on the 600 Block of West Sixth Street.  The officer had seen the occupied vehicle parked several inches from the curb line for over 15 minutes.  The officer had also seen a subject standing outside of the vehicle speaking with the driver.  An investigative stop was conducted by the officer.  The driver, Richard Dixon III, was the sole occupant of the vehicle.  As the Palmyra Officer had been speaking with the driver, he observed fresh ashes all over the console.  He also saw on the ground below the drivers window, fresh green stick like vegetation, believed to be the remnants of marijuana. 


A further investigation was conducted and a Police K9 from Evesham Township was requested to assist and arrived on location a short time later.  The Evesham K9 indicated on the vehicle, a 2006 Volkswagon Passat, and Palmyra Police attempted to obtain consent to search the interior of the vehicle from Richard Dixon III.  He refused consent so Palmyra officers applied for a telephonic search warrrant to secure any narcotic evidence from inside the vehicle.  The warrant was approved by a Burlington County Superior Court Judge.  Officers advised Mr. Dixon of the approved search warrant to which he became uncooperative and refused to exit his vehicle.  Officers placed Mr. Dixon under arrest for obstructing their investigation. 


In order to conduct the search of the vehicle, officers had it towed to a safe location due to the dimly lit street and forming crowd.  A search of the vehicle revealed a large sandwich bag of suspected marijuana in the passenger compartment of the vehicle.   Mr. Dixon was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (under 50 grams), obstruction of justice, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a school zone.  He was also held in contempt of court because he had violated an existing drug offender restraining order which barred him from being within a 1000 feet of the Palmyra high school. 


Richard Dixon III was unable to post the required bail needed for release and was subsequently lodged in Burlington County Jail. 


 


01/09/2012 @ 0600 HRS.


Sometime between the hours of 0900 on 01/08/2012 and 0600 on 01/09/2012, Armotek Engraving (1 Roto Avenue) was burglarized.  The suspects entered the industrial business by prying open two different hatch doors on the roof.  Approximately $10,000 worth of copper balls were stolen along with approximately $3000 worth of tools.  Anyone having any information regarding this case is  urged to call Palmyra Police Department Detective Bureau at 856-829-0198. 


 


01/05/2012 @ 0933 hrs.


On 01/05/2012 at approximately 0933 hrs., a Palmyra officer conducted a pedestrian stop of a subject that had been standing on the corner of East Broad Street and Cinnaminson Avenue for an extended period of time.  The officer asked the subject for his identification but he could not produce any.  He then gave a name that did not match the name on the prescription pill bottles that he had been carrying.  The subject then reluctantly admitted that the original name given was false.  He later lied again to police about his middle name while they were trying to verify his information.  The subject, finally identified as 50 year old Donald P. Ross, was placed under arrest for giving false information to police. 


A search of the subject revealed a glass pipe commonly used for smoking narcotics.  He also had and outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Burlington City.  He was served with a summons for false information to police and for the possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was unable to post the bail needed to satisfy the warrant and was turned over to Burlington City Police Department.  Donald Ross was later lodged in Burlington County Jail for the outstanding warrant. 


 


1/2/2012 @ 1500 hrs.


On 1/2/2012 at approximately 3 pm, officers were dispatched to a residents home in Palmyra for a reported bicycle theft.  The caller/victim observed an african american male enter her backyard and use bolt cutters to remove her chain locked bicycle.  The subject then rode off with the bicycle.  The caller briefly chased the subject then ran back inside to call 911.  An excellent description of the subject was given by the caller and police were able to locate the subject, 41 year old Kenneth Dempsey (previously of Trenton, NJ) on River Road.  He was still in possession of the bicycle. 


After officers placed the subject under arrest for the theft, they discovered that he was also in possession of several hypodermic needles, a small plastic bag of suspected narcotics, several glass pipes used for smoking narcotics, a pair of bolt cutters and a piece of a hand saw.   Kenneth Dempsey was charged with Theft, Possession of narcotics, Possession of hypodermic needles, Possession of drug paraphernalia, Possession of burglar tools.  He was unable to post the required bail needed for release and was subsequently lodged in Burlington County Jail. 


 


01/03/2011


Palmyra Police are investigating recent vandalism to the concession stand at Legion Field.  Public works employees reported to police that the lights over the windows to the park concession stand had been broken out.  Investigating officers reviewed the surveillance cameras and found that three (3) juveniles breaking the lights with rocks.  Officers are working with school officials in an attempt to identify the three (3) juveniles.  Police are asking any residents who may know the juveniles involved to contact police. 


 


12/05/11


10:00am Police were called to investigate a theft of two vehicles from a used car lot on Rt. 73N.  Upon arrival Police were advised by the victim that sometime between 4:00pm on 12/03/11 and 10:00am on 12/05/11, two Buick Regals were stolen from the lot.  The vehicle keys were still locked inside the building.  One vehicle was a 1986 two door white in color and the other was 1987 two door grey in color.  If anyone has any information on this incident please call Palmyra PD at 856-829-0191.


 


11/18/11


8:53pm Officers were dispatched to Maryland Ave section of town for a past tense Burglary and Theft at a residence.  Upon arrival they spoke to the victims who stated that they had left for work this date at 9:00am and returned home at 6:30pm to find that their house had been burglarized.  The victims reported $37,300.00 in jewelry and camera missing.  Police are asking for the public's help in finding the suspect(s).  Anyone who has any possible information about this case should call Palmyra PD at 856-829-0191.  You can remain anonymous.


 


11/16/11


5:37pm Palmyra Officers were dispatched to investigate a past tense Burglary and Theft to a residence.  Upon arrival they spoke to the house sitter as the home owner was on vacation.  The house sitter advised that she came to check on the house and noticed the television was missing, so she called the home owner.  Once on the phone it was discovered that a Wii gaming system was also missing.  The total value of loss was estimated at $2,300.00.  Entry to the home was apparently through a window.  Detective are asking for the public's help.  If you have any information pertaining to this incident, please contact Palmyra   Police at 856-829-0191.


 


11/13/2011 @ 2046 Hrs.
Palmyra Police were dispatched to the Wawa Food Store for a shoplifting.  Responding units were given a description of the suspect; black male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.  The suspect had been last seen by store employees walking towards the River Line train platform.   Responding units were actually approached by the suspect who claimed that he had not stolen anything. 


After officers spoke with Wawa employees and witnesses it was determined that the suspect had in fact concealed merchandise from the store in his pants pocket.  The suspect had been startled by store employees coming out of the back and decided to take the items out of his pockets and leave them on the counter. 


The suspect, Ryan Caldwell of Westampton, had concealed 2 packs of Combo pretzels, 2 Peanut Chews, and 1 Butterfinger candy bar.  He was arrested and charged with shoplifting.  Ryan Caldwell also had three (3) outstanding warrants for his arrest.  He was unable to post any of the bail required for release and he was lodged in Burlington County Jail. 


11/13/2011 @ 0813 Hrs.
While on patrol, a Palmyra officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 North in the area of River Road for an equipment violation.  As the officer made his approach to the vehicle on the passenger side, he observed that the passenger had a baseball hat sitting on his lap.  Inside the hat was a plastic bag of marijuana.  The passenger, a juvenile, was taken of the vehicle and arrested for the possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.  The driver consented to a search of the entire vehicle by police. 


During the search, officers located a partially smoked marijuana cigarette in the center console.  The driver, Ephraim Vale of Camden, was subsequently also arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.  The juvenile was charged and released to the custody of his father.  Ephraim Vale was also charged and released on a summons.

Palmyra Police were dispatched to the Wawa Food Store, 600 Cinnaminson Ave for a shoplifting.  Responding officers were advised that a white male, 5'09" wearing to two (2) sweatshirts, one white and the second being red with grey stripes had left the store towards the River Line rail station.  Palmyra officers stopped the accused two (2) blocks from the Wawa where he was identified as Michael McCusker, 33 years of age from Mullica Hill.


It had been determined that Mr. McCusker had attempted to take a pint of ice cream from the Wawa without paying.  Mr. McCusker was taken into custody and charged with shoplifting.  Mr. McCusker also had an outstanding warrant out of Washington Twp, Gloucester County.  Unable to post the necessary bail Mr. McCusker was lodged in Burlington County Jail.


11/11/2011 @ 2115 Hrs.
Palmyra Police responded to the 3100 Block of Harbour Drive to take a stolen motor vehicle report.  The victim advised that this was the third time her brother, Roberto Santiago, had taken her vehicle without her consent.  As units were gathering more information for this report, Roberto Santiago was observed parking the vehicle that was being reported stolen.  Roberto Santiago, a 50 year old male, was taken into custody and charged with taking the vehicle without the victims consent.  He was unable to post the required bail and was subsequently lodged in Burlington County Jail. 


11/11/2011 @ 2001 Hrs.
Palmyra officers were dispatched to the 3100 Block of Harbour Drive for a Burglary call.  Upon arrival units were advised by the homeowner that someone had forcibly entered his residence between the hours of 1pm and 8pm.  Several items were taken from the residence, including a 50" Panasonic LCD television, an Apple I-Pad, and numerous pieces of jewelry.  Anyone having any information pertaining to this incident are urged to call the Palmyra Police Detective Bureau at 856-829-0198.

1:24pm Palmyra Officers were called to investigate a theft from motor vehicle that was parked at the Tacony Palmyra Flea Market.  Upon arrival the Officer spoke to the victim, who stated she was shopping in the Flea Market and had left her vehicle.  When she returned she found her vehicle had been vandalized and items taken.  Unknown suspect(s) entered the vehicle and stole $2,260.00 worth of various belongings and caused $300.00 in damage to dashboard of vehicle.

12:20am Palmyra Officers were called to investigate several criminal mischief reports in the area of the 700 block of Morgan Ave.  Upon arrival four victims told police that their respective vehicles had been vandalized with spray paint.  The collective damage was estimated at $320.00 to have the vehicles cleaned.  Police are asking for your help if anyone saw anything suspicious in this area during the evening hours on 10/18/11, please call police at 856-829-0191


 


10/12/11


9:23am Officers were called to a Pizza shop on Market Street for a window in the store smashed out sometime over night.  Upon arrival Officer spoke to the store manager who stated that they closed the store on 10/11/11 at 10:50pm and all was fine and when they returned on the morning of 10/12/11 they noticed that a cinder block had been thrown through the front glass window causing damage to the window and a neon sign.  The total cost of damages is estimated at $400.00.  Police are asking for anyone with any information on this case to contact Palmyra PD at 856-829-0191.


 


09/29/11


8:02am  Police were dispatched to investigate a past tense Burglary at a Commercial Business Warehouse on Roto Ave. in Palmyra.  Upon arrival Police learned that someone had broken into the business some time over night and likely had a vehicle based on the amount of items taken.  The suspects forced in a piece of wood that was covering a hole in the warehouse wall and were able to gain access to the building.  Once inside they were able to cut several locks from storage cages and take numerous power tools and hand tools.  Also taken was approximately 100lbs of copper in the shape of 2 inch balls that was left in a bucket.  The tools and copper totalled a loss of $1,650.00.  Police are asking for anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area to contact them immediately at 856-829-0191.


 


09/24/11


11:21am Palmyra Officers were called to the Flea Market for a victim who had her purse taken while shopping.  Upon arrival Police learned that the victim was following the suspects and that they had taken the purse when she sat it down on a table.  Police made contact with Ms. Naeemah Shabazz and after interviewing her they learned that she had thrown the purse in the bed of a near by pick up truck to avoid detection.  Police took the suspect into custody without incident and she was charge with theft and bail was set at $2,500.00 with 10%.  The suspect Naeemah Shabazz 30yrs old of Philadelphia , PA was able to post the required bail and was released pending court.  The victim was able to recover all items except a wallet and $30 in cash.


 


09/24/11


7:55pm Palmyra Officers were dispatched for an Armed Robbery of a pizza delivery person on Leconey Ave in Palmyra.  Upon arrival the victim was able to give Police a very good account of the event including a tag from the vehicle that the victim saw the suspects leave in.  The tag from the vehicle came back to an address on 5th St. in Palmyra.  The victim told police that two suspects came up from behind her while she was attempting to deliver pizzas to an address.  The victim felt what she thought to be a gun on each side of her waist area.  The victim was finally able to see one gun that she believed to be a semi automatic handgun.  The victim gave the suspects approximately $318.00 in cash and her cell phone.  The victim, thankfully was not injured.  Follow up investigation by Officers and Detectives revealed that the pizza delivery request was a set up by the suspects who called and ordered the pizzas to be delivered to an address where nobody was home.  Police were able to charge two juveniles  and one adult for Robbery, Conspiracy to commit Robbery and Unlawful possession of a firearm.  The firearm was recovered and found to be a pellet gun.  The adult charged was Dawson Pratt III 20 yrs old of Palmyra, NJ.  Mr. Pratt was housed at Burlington County Jail on $50,000.00 bail and the two juveniles were lodged at Juvenile Detention Center.


 


09/23/11


10:51pm A Palmyra Officer observed a subject on 6th Street that he knew to have an outstanding fugitive warrant out of Kentucky for Drug Trafficking.  The Officer made contact with Mr. Paul Sheppard 52yrs old of Palmyra, NJ and took custody of him without incident.  Kentucky Authorities were notified and advised that they wanted Mr. Sheppard.  Mr. Sheppard was processed and transported to Burlington County Jail with no bail.


 


09/25/11


8:10pm Officers were dispatched to Rt. 73S Truck stop for a theft of services call.  Upon arrival Police learned that a patron had come in for gas and was served $111.00 worth of gas and then sped away without paying for the fuel.  The attendant was able to get a tag Z70-AUV NJ.  Police attempted a look up on the vehicles tag and same was a stolen motor vehicle.  The vehicle was a Green GMC SUV with 3-4 hispanic male occupants.  Police are asking for anyone who has seen this vehicle to call 911 immediately.

1001pm A Palmyra Officer stopped a vehicle for motor vehicle violations.  A subsequent investigation revealed that the driver, Ivan Lopez 18yrs old of Pennsauken, NJ was in possession of suspected marijuana under 50 grams.  Mr. Lopez was taken into custody without incident.  Mr. Lopez was charged accordingly and released pending court. 


 


09/11/11


1254am A Palmyra Officer stopped a vehicle on Rt. 73 South for motor vehicle violations.  A subsequent investigation revealed that the passenger, Mr. Ronald E. Gaskin III of Philadelphia, PA was in possession of suspected marijuana under 50 grams and suspected drug paraphernalia.  Mr. Gaskin was taken into custody without incident.  He was charged accordingly and released pending court.


 


09/06/11


7:24pm Palmyra Officer saw two females on the light rail platform sharing a cigarette.  The one female then threw the cigarette to the ground.  The Officer knowing this to be illegal got out and began questioning the two females about their behavior.  The subsequent investigation revealed that one female, Danielle Bushie 31yrs old of Riverside, NJ was in possession of suspected heroin, drug paraphernalia, possession of prescription drugs not prescribed to her and had two outstanding warrants for her arrest. Ms. Bushie was taken into custody without incident and charged.  She was later transported to Minimum Security Facility of Pemberton because she could not post bail of $10,000.00 with 10%.  The other female Ms. Jennifer Swinney, 31yrs old of Palmyra was charged on a special complaint for loitering to purchase Controlled dangerous substance and released at the scene.


 


09/01/11


Palmyra Officers were called to investigate four vehicles that had been broken into sometime over night between 08/31/11 and 09/01/11.  All of the vehicles appeared to have been left unlocked because there were no signs of forced entry.  Two of the vehicles had the console or glove compartment rummaged through and the other two vehicles had items taken.  One vehicle suffered the loss of a GPS valued at $120 and the other vehicle lost a key to the ignition valued at $80.  The vehicles were were not all in the same area of town.  The vehicles were parked at the following locations, Broad St., Garfield Ave, Parry Ave and Berkley St.  Police are asking all residents to lock their vehicles any time they leave them unattended.  If anyone saw anything suspicious that may be tied to these incidents please contact Palmyra PD at 856-829-0191.


 


08/21/11 8:50pm


Palmyra Officers dealt with the same subject on two occasions  during the same evening and he was arrested both times.  An Officer first encountered Mr. Cesar Ortiz 41yrs old of Columbus, NJ sleeping on the train platform.  The train had passed and no movement.  The Officer confronted Mr. Ortiz and asked for identification.  He was slightly intoxicated and uncooperative.  He then began to use profanity in the area where other folks were waiting for the train.  At this point he was placed under arrest and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Obstruction of Law.  After several hours in custody he was released pending court.  Approximately one hour later he was seen by the same Officer attempting to break a lock off of a secured bicycle on the same train platform.  Mr. Ortiz was again taken into custody and charged with Conspiracy to commit theft and criminal mischief. The Judge set bail at $2,500.00 and Mr. Ortiz was taken to Burlington County Jail.


 


08/17/11 9:24pm


Palmyra Police stopped a vehicle when a random license plate inquiry came back that the vehicle had been reported stolen July of 2011.  The driver Matthew Martin, 30yrs old of Philadelphia, PA was immediately taken into custody for receiving stolen property.  Subsequent to the arrest, Officers searched Mr. Martin and he was found to be in possession of 3 bags of suspected cocaine.  Mr. Martin was charged with 4 indictable offenses and bail was set at $15,000.00 with 10% by Judge.  Mr. Martin was able to post 10% and was released pending court. 


 


08/14/11 Various times. 


Palmyra Police took reports for five criminal mischief events that all occurred in the same area on the same night.  Items damaged were fence post, two light poles, vehicle, planter and screen to window.  Total amount of damage is estimated at $1,220.00.  Two victims heard loud noises sometime between 0300 and 0400hrs but thought it was someone rummaging through a nearby dumpster.  Police are asking for anyone who may have seen or heard something related to these events to contact Palmyra PD at 856-829-0191

Police are investigating two thefts from motor vehicles that occurred in the same vicinity over night between 08/13/11 and 08/14/11.  In both cases vehicles were left unlocked and GPS devices were taken.  Police are asking that everyone lock their vehicles whenever you leave them for any length of time.  Also anyone who may have heard or seen anything in the area mentioned during the time frame given, please contact Palmyra PD at 856-829-0191

PALMYRA POLICE ARE LOOKING FOR ASSISTANCE IN IDENTIFYING A BODY THAT WAS DISCOVERED AT APPROXIMATELY 0710HRS IN THE DELAWARE RIVER IN PALMYRA, NJ.  THE BODY IS THAT OF A BLACK MALE, APPROXIMATELY 6'1" TO 6'3", 280-300LBS WITH CORN ROW STYLE HAIR AND GOATEE.  THE MALE WAS WEARING BLACK SWEATPANTS WITH THE WORDS "ECKO UNLIMITED" ON THE THIGH AREA OF THE PANTS AND A BLACK T-SHIRT.  ANYONE WITH ANY INFORMATION ON THE POSSIBLE IDENTITY OF THIS PERSON SHOULD IMMEDIATELY CONTACT PALMYRA POLICE DEPT. AT 856-829-0191.


 


08/11/11 7:47pm 


Police were flagged down by a victim of criminal mischief to their vehicle.  The victim told police that sometime between 8am on 08/10/11 and 7pm on 08/11/11 unknown suspect(s) spray painted black paint across the quarter panel and trunk of her 2001 Toyota causing approximately $1,000.00 damage.  Police are asking for anyone who may have witnessed this act to contact police at 856-829-0191 and you do not have to give your name.

A Palmyra Officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rt 73 South for motor vehicle violations.  The driver was unable to produce a valid insurance and registration card for the vehicle.  The Officer also detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle and noticed in plain view cigar wrappers commonly utilized to smoke marijuana.  The driver was asked out of the vehicle and when he stepped out the Officer noticed a plastic zip lock baggy between the seat and console which contained suspected oxycodone.  A second baggy was found containing suspected marijuana.  Julian Ellis-El 26yrs old of Mt. Laurel, NJ was taken into custody without incident.  He was charged with Possession of controlled dangerous substance, paraphernalia and placed in the Burlington County Jail on $5,000.00 bail.

Police were called to 1000 block of Cinnaminson Ave for a past tense Burglary and Theft to a residence.  Upon arrival the victim told Police that when she returned home from being out for the evening, she noticed that her door was open.  Upon closer inspection she realized that her window air conditioner had been pushed in and all the drawers in her kitchen were open.  The victim reported $3,150.00 worth of stolen items to Police.  Police are asking for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in this area to contact Palmyra Police at 856-829-0191.

 On Thursday August 4th at approximately 8:00am Palmyra officers were dispatched to a residence on the 600 block of Garfield Ave for an alarm activation.  Arriving officers found that the back door to the residence had been forced open.  As officers were checking this residence police were notified by Central Communications of subject breaking into a residence through a rear window on the 600 block of Washington Ave.  


Officers responded to the area of the 600 block of Washington Ave and began checking the area for a white male described by the caller.  An officer found the subject on the 600 block of Lincoln Ave and the subject fled from police.  Officers chased the subject on foot across Broad Street where the subject attempted to loose officers in rear yards on Maple and Morgan Avenues.
The subject was found on the 500 block Garfield Ave and was taken into custody.  Further investigation found that the subject had also attempted to break into an additional house on the 600 block of Washington Ave.  


The subject Andrew M. Feole, 24 years old of the 1000 block of S. Broad Street, Trenton.  Confessed to attempting to break into three (3) homes just prior to running from officers.  Andrew Feole was charged with two (2) counts of burglary, criminal attempt of burglary, criminal mischief, criminal trespass and eluding police; he was lodged in Burlington County Jail on $65,000.00 bail.   


 


 


07/31/11 4:25pm PALMYRA POLICE ARE LOOKING FOR YOUR HELP.
Police were dispatched to the Wawa food store at Broad St. and Cinnaminson Ave for a stolen bike.  The victim told Police that he parked his black Electra Beach Cruiser on the side of the building while he went in to shop.  He returned a short time later to find the bike missing and another unknown patron told him he saw someone leave with the bike heading towards Riverton.  The bike is valued at $300.  The store is usually busy at that time of day and there were likely other witnesses.  If anyone saw someone riding away on this bike, please contact Palmyra Pd and give us any information you have at 856-829-0191.


 


07/30/11 8:36pm Police were dispatched to a residence on 6th Street for a victim who had just been stabbed during an altercation.  Police arrived and the victim was being tended too by friends and had suffered two stab wounds.  The victim had been stabbed in the shoulder and neck area.  Detective was immediately called out and Police began speaking to witnesses. It was learned that the two men were fighting over food at a party.  Police were able to gather enough information through their investigation to charge Robert Allen 55yrs old, of Moorestown, NJ with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes.  Mr. Allen was arrested by Police during the early morning hours of 07/31/11 without incident and lodged in the Burlington County jail with a bail of $35,000.00.  The victim was treated and released from the hospital.


 


7/28/11 12:48AM  A Palmyra Officer made a motor vehicle stop for motor vehicle violations on Rt. 73 South.  Upon approaching the paseenger side of the vehicle and speaking to the driver and passenger, the Officer smelled the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.  After a subsquent investigation it was learned that the passenger, Michael Trice, 28yrs old of Philadelphia, PA was in possession of suspected marijuana under 50 grams.  Mr. Tice was taken into custody and served a summons and released pending court. 


 


7/27/11 2:04pm Officers were called to the area of Charles St. for a subject stealing recyclables from the Borough cans.  Upon arrival Police observed a suspect throwing cans from recycle buckets into the back of his pick up truck.  Police arrested Mr. Paulino Bello-Silvestre 46yrs old of Camden, NJ.  He was charged with a disorderly theft charge and released pending court.


 


07/25/11 9:40am Officers came upon an illegally parked vehicle with the side van door open.  As Officers approached they found a male sleeping inside the van.  A follow up investigation revealed that the male was in the country illegally and presented a fraudulent permanent resident card.  Ignacio Perez 24yrsold was charged and bail was set at $30,000.00 and he was lodged in the Burlington County Jail.  The Immigration and Naturalization Service was contacted to follow up on the investigation.


 


7/23/11 4:55am Palmyra Officers were dispatched to a past tense bicycle theft on Delaware Ave section of town.  Upon arricval the victim told police that sometime over night someone entered his fenced yard and took a blue Mongoose Mountain bike from the yard.  The bike was valued at $100.00.  Police need your help in keeping an eye out for any suspicious activity related to bicycles.


 


07/22/11 9:18am Police were called to investigate a past tense Burglary and Vandalism to a business on Broad St.  Upon arrival the victim showed Officers where the unknown suspects broken out a window and removed bars to gain access to the building.  Once inside they were able to break into a safe full of car keys but nothing appeared to have been taken. Total vandalism is approximately $500.00.


 


07/22/11 10:43pm Officers were dispatched to the Garfield Ave section of town for criminal mischief to a vehicle.  Upon arrival Officers met with the victim who advised them that someone had smashed out his drivers side window, struck his windshield twice with a blunt object and punctured his tailgate.  The damage totalled approximately $800.00.  Police are looking for the public's help because there had been people in the area around the time of the damage who may have witnessed something.  If anyone saw a vehicle get vandalized in that area, please contact Palmyra PD at 856-829-0198


 


07/09/11 3:46pm  An alert Palmyra Officer spotted Mr. Joseph D'Agostino 40yrs old of Delanco, NJ pushing two bicycles on Vansant Dr.  The Officer stopped D'Agostino due to the rash of bicycle thefts recently.  Moments after stopping him police were advised of a call for a theft of two bicycles.  The description matched the bikes being pushed by D'Agostino.  He was taken into custody and subsequently admitted to stealing the bikes off of a porch at a residence on Cinnaminson Ave.  He was charged with Burglary and Theft and bail was set at $20,000.00 and D'Agostino was transported to Burlington County Jail.


 


07/08/11 11:47pm Police were dispatched to a 911 call for a dispute at a residence on Maple Ave.  Upon arrival they spoke to Mr. Antonio Benton who had called in the 911 disturbance as Antonio Santiago.  Mr. Benton said there was no problem and invited police into the apartment. Police had Mr. Benton step outside while they spoke to a female inside the residence.  Inside the residence in plain view Officers discovered narcotic contraband and hypodermic needle that had just recently been used.  They inspected Mr. Benton more closely and discovered that he had been using the narcotics.  Mr. Benton was taken into custody and subsequently charged for possession of narcotics, possession of hypodermic needle and wrongfully dialing 911.  Bail was set at $15,000.00 and Mr. Benton 38yrs old of Palmyra was transported to Burlington County Jail.


 


07/08/11 7:57am  Palmyra Police were dispatched to a home on Lincoln Ave for a past tense burglary and theft.  Upon arrival the victim told police that his $2,000.00 Jamis Bicycle was stolen from his detached garage.  The exact date of theft is not known.  Police are asking residents to be vigilant in watching for any suspicious activity in their neighborhood.  There has been a rash of bike thefts in recent weeks.  If anyone has any information at all on this case, please contact Palmyra Police at 856-829-0191.


 


07/05/11 1059hrs  Palmyra Police were called to investigate a credit card fraud and theft that occurred at a Gas station on Rt 73.  Officer spoke to the victim who stated that he purchased gas with a credit card and the attendant said the machine outside wasn't working and he would have to run it inside the building.  The attendant returned with receipts for the victim and the victim left location.  Some time later the victim realized he did not get his card back so he returned to the station.  The victim got his card back but now thought this was suspicious so he checked his account statement and saw that there were two other charges at the gas station besides the gas he received.  Officer conducted follow up investigation and was able to determine that the gas attendant, Melvin Gray 39yrs old of Camden, NJ had illegally run the victim's card two additional times to gain financial benefit to himself.  Mr. Gray turned himself in on 7/07/11 and was served with complaints for Credit Card Fraud and Theft and bail was set at $10,000.00.  Mr. Gray was transported to Burlington County Jail.


 


07/06/11 8:41am Palmyra Police were called to investigate a past tense theft and Criminal Mischief at a business on Broad St.  Upon arrival Officers were led to a vehicle that was for sale on the lot.  The vehicle had the passenger side window broken out and the radio had been stolen.  The radio was valued at $400.00 and the damage to vehicle valued at $150.00.  Police are asking for anyone with any information on this crime to contact Palmyra Police at 856-829-0191.


 


07/02/11 10:18pm Palmyra Police are looking for the public's help in this case.  Officers were called to a residence on Race St for a man seen running with a gun.  When Officers arrived they checked the area with negative results.  Officers were then flagged down by a male victim who stated that someone had just come into his residence brandishing a handgun and demanding money.  The victim turned his pockets out to show that he had no money on him and the suspect then fired several "blank rounds" at the victim.  The suspect fled the area and fired several more blank rounds into the air while running from the area.  The victim sustained minor facial injuries due to the wading that came out of the weapon when the blanks were fired.  There is no description of the suspect because he covered his whole head and face with camouflage clothing.  There were several casings recovered at the scene.  If anyone has any information at all about this serious offense, please contact Palmyra PD at 856-829-0191.


 


07/02/11 5:18pm Palmyra Officers were called to Roger Wilco on Rt. 73N for a suspect who had attempted to break into several vehicles in the parking lot and had fled the area on foot.  Police observed a male fitting the description given running down Rt. 73N in front of F.C. Kerbeck and Sons.  Police stopped the suspect to question him but he was extremely uncooperative and admitted to being high on narcotics.  The suspect had to be subdued and taken into custody but their were no injuries to Officers or suspect.  Follow up investigation at the store revealed that the suspect had first taken a bottle of wine in the store and just started drinking it without purchasing it.  A manager took the bottle away and went to call Police.  The suspect then pushed a small 4yr old boy and took his Game Boy DS out of his hand.  The young boys mother was able to regain possession of the Game Boy but the suspect almost knocked her to the ground in the process.  The suspect was charged with 8 different charges, some of which are Robbery, Endangering Child, Resisting, Theft and Simple Assault to name a few.  Anthony Doria, 21yrs old of Philadelphia, PA was lodged in the Burlington County Jail with a bail of $45,000.00.  Fortunately there were no injuries during this escapade.


 


6/29/11 10:25PM  Palmyra Officers were dispatched to WAWA for a shoplifting and theft complaint.  Once gathering a description of the suspect, Officers checked the area and located Ms. Tanya Simmons, 37yrs old of Cinnaminson, NJ fitting the descriptino given by store manager.  Ms. Simmons admitted to the theft and shoplifting but gave a ficticious name.  She was taken into custody and her true identity was revealed.  She was charged with Shoplifting, Theft and Hindering her own apprehension and released pending court.

At approximately 1:05 pm Palmyra Officers were dispatched to an apartment building on the 200 Block of East Broad Street for an assault that had just occurred.  Responding officers found that the victim had been attacked in the hallway of his apartment building.  The victim had been struck in the head and had his wallet stolen.  The victim and an other resident of the building described the attacker as a Hispanic male, wearing a red shirt.  The witness said that the subject had fled behind the apartment building.


Officers checking the are found a subject matching the description at two (2) blocks away at Broad Street and Cinnaminson Ave heading towards the NJ Transit Light Station.  The subject, Jose Santos, 41 years old of North Park Drive, Pennsauken, was identified by a witness.  Jose Santos was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Mr. Santos was lodged in Burlington County Jail on $250,000.00 bail.


The victim was treated at an area hospital and released. 


6/27/11 9:44am Palmyra Officer conducted a motor vehicle stop for motor vehicle violations on Rt. 73N.  The driver Eddie Villalongo, 21yrs old of Philadelphia, PA was found to be a fugitive out of Bucks County, PA and be in possession of marijuana under 50 grams.  He was charged and confined to the Burlington County Jail.


 


6/22/11 1:03pm Palmyra Officer made a car stop for motor vehicle violations on Rt. 73.  The driver of the vehicle attempted to give false information as to his identity to avoid arrest.  Followup investigation revealed his true name as Jeffrey Reevey, 29yrs old of Camden, NJ.  He was arrested for a Gloucester County civil contempt warrant and a warrant out of Woddlyne Twp.  He was also charged for Hindering his own apprehension and several motor vehicle violations.


 


06/27/11 10:07am  Palmyra Officers were dispatched for a suspect believed to have stolen a bicycle and was now on Broad St. near Cinnaminson Ave.  The witness had watched the suspect walk onto a property on foot and when he left he had a black mountain bike.  A description was given of the suspect.  Officers located a suspect fitting the description on a bike fitting the description of the missing bike at the Pennsauken Light Rail station.  Follow up investigation revealed that the suspect, Edwin G. Rosa, 40yrs old of Camden, NJ had in fact gone onto a property in the rear of an apartment building and stolen a black mountain bike valued at $100.00.  He was charged with theft and Criminal Trespass and released pending court.


 


06/26/11 12:19pm  Palmyra Officers were at an apartment on Broad St doing a follow up investigation for Riverside PD. In the course of the investigation they arrested Jeremy Scott 22yrs old of Westampton, NJ for possession of Drug paraphernalia, obstruction and two outstanding warrants.  Mr. Scott was attempting to conceal the paraphernalia in a sofa in the apartment when police arrested him.  Mr. Scott was transported to Burlington County Jail on an unpaid Lumberton Twp warrant.


 


06/26/11 10:28am Palmyra Officers stopped Mr. Marc Serfass, 39yrs old of Bellmawr, NJ for motor vehicle violations.  A subsequent investigation revealed that he was wanted as a fugitive from Justice out of Bucks County, PA.  He was charged with various motor vehicle violations and with being a Fugitive from Justice and lodged in Burlington County Jail


 


06/25/11 12:44pm  Palmyra Officer observed a vehicle sit through the traffic cycle at Broad and Market St.  Vehicles began beeping at the subject who then pulled away at a high rate of speed.  Officer stopped Christine Pagliaro, 42yrs old, of Philadelphia, PA.  Subsequent investigation revealed that Ms. Pagliaro was under the influence of Alcohol and was taken into custody for Driving under the influence where she was processed and issued three summons and released pending court


 


06/25/11 1:47am  Palmyra Officer stopped Ross Breder, 26yrs old of Palmyra, NJ for going the wrong way on the one way street on S. Broad street.  Through Officer investigation it was learned that Mr. Breder was under the influence and was taken into custody and charged with Driving while intoxicated and driving the wrong way on a one way street.  Mr. Breder was released pending court.


 


06/24/11 2322hrs Palmyra Officers conducted a pedestrian stop on Thomas Edgecomb, 48yrs, of Delran, NJ at the bus stop 10 E. Broad St.  Mr. Edgecomb was found to have a child support warrant from the Burlington County Sheriff's Department for $76,050.75.  During the course of a search of his person Officers located drug paraphernalia in his pocket.  Mr. Edgecomb was processed for his offenses and housed in the Burlington County Jail

Officers were called to the area of 2010 Harbour Drive for a suspicious vehicle.  Investigating officers found two subjects parked in a vehicle matching the description given by the caller.  Officers could detect a strong odor of marijuana as they spoke with the driver.  While questioning the driver he turned over a blunt cigar containing marijuana and a small baggie containing additional vegetation believed to be marijuana. 


The driver, Donte Larkins of the 500 block of Cinnaminson Ave was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams.  Donte was released pending court.

Officers were called to the Roger Wilco Liquor Store for a shoplifting.  Investigating officers were informed by store personel that a white female approximately 40 years old had concealed an item under her shirt and left the store.  Store Employees were able to provide officers with a vehicle description and license plate number.  They were also able to provide survaillance video of the woman. 


A check of the vehicle registration showed the owner resided in Riverton where officers were able to take her into custody without incident.  The woman Leslie Libby of Cedar Street in Riverton was charged with shoplifting and released pending court.

Palmyra Police were called to headquarters for the report of an attempted Armed Robbery that had just occurred in the area of Weart Blvd.  Upon arrival police met with the victim who stated that he was in his vehicle stopped at a stop sign when he saw three black males in the area.  One black male then approached his driver's side window and demanded that the victim give him all his money.  The victim believes the suspect was in possession of a black Glock style handgun.  The victim sped away in his car without further incident.  The victim could only describe the male that came to his window and he is described as a black male, short hair, approximately 5'08" tall, medium build, wearing black t-shirt and silver shorts.  Police are concerned and asking for the public's help if you know anything about this incident.  Please call 856-829-0191 if you have any information.

Palmyra Police were dispatched to 610 Chestnut Street for a garage fire.  Responding officers found the attached garage fully involved.  Fire Companies from Palmyra, Riverton and Cinnaminson worked to extinguish the fire.  Fire company personnel were able to contain the fire to the garage with minimal fire damage to the main portion of the residence.  The residence did sustain heavy smoke and water damage.  No injuries were reported to the residents or fire personnel.

On Monday June 13 at approximately 11:50 pm Palmyra Officers stopped a Green Nissan Maxim for traffic violations.  When speaking to the driver investigating officers could smell a strong odor of burnt marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle.  Officers obtained a consent to search and inside of the vehicle found a small amount of marijuana.  The passenger Latrice Hayes, 28 years old from River Road, Pennsauken was charged with possession of marijuana.  Ms. Hayes was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and had three (3) outstanding warrants from Camden City. 


The driver Frederick Bassaw, age 42 from S. South Street, Camden City was charged with false information to police and was also wanted by the Camden County Sheriffs Department.  Both subjects were processed and turned over to Camden County Authorities.


On Tuesday, June 14th the Palmyra Police Department received a delayed notification that the license plates on the vehicle driven by Frederick Bassaw had been reported stolen from a vehicle in Camden City.  Frederick Bassaw was additionally charged with receiving stolen property.

On Sunday June 12th at approximately 6:00 pm Palmyra officers were dispatched to the Wawa Store, 600 Cinnaminson Ave for a shoplifting.  Responding officers were given a description of the shoplifter and were informed that he ran towards the New Jersey Transit Light Rail Station.  Arriving officers found a subject fitting the description sitting on a bench on the train platform.  As officers questioned the subject they observed several cans of Red Bull and a tastykake sitting in an open carry bag at the subjects feet.  The subject Robert Parker, 57 years old of Stevens Street, Camden was taken into custody and transported to the Wawa Store.


Wawa employees were able to identify Mr. Parker and his actions were also captured on store surveillance cameras.  Mr. Parker was found to have stolen 18, 16 oz. cans of Monster energy drinks, 10, 10 oz. cans of Red Bull energy drinks and a tastykake pie.  Mr. Parker also had in his possession 4 hypodermic needles and a baggie believed to be marijuana.


Mr. Parker was charged with shoplifting and drug offenses.  Mr. Parker was unable to post the necessary bail and lodged in Burlington County Jail.

On Saturday June 11th at approximately 12:30 pm a Palmyra officer on patrol along Rt 73 south performed a random computer check of vehicle also traveling south on Rt73.  The computer check showed that the vehicle, a 2011 Nissan Altima had been reported by the Philadelphia Police stolen on February of this year.  The vehicle was stopped in the parking lot of the Wawa,
Rt 73 South and Reminington Ave in Pennsauken.


The driver Arielle Howard-Hill, 22 years of age of South 60th Street in Philadelphia was taken into police custody without incident.  Ms. Howard-Hill was also found to be in possession of a packet of green vegetation believed to be marijuana.  Ms. Howard-Hill was charged with receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.  Ms. Howard-Hill was released after posting the required bail.

On Wednesday June 8th at approximately 11:49 pm a Palmyra Officer on patrol in the area of Cinnaminson Ave observed the driver of motorcycle commit a traffic offense.  As the officer drove behind the motorcycle he performed a look up of the motorcycle's registration.  This look up showed that the motorcycle had been reported stolen.  The officer stopped the motorcycle on North Harbour Drive where the driver was taken into custody without incident.  The driver Andre Carson-Jones, 25 years of age of Delanco, NJ was charged with receiving stolen property and released pending court.


06/02/11 7:46pm Palmyra Officers were flagged down by a resident on Garfield Ave. who believed she had just been burglarized.  A neighbor assisted her in stopping Leslie Croce, 29yrs old of Riverton, NJ who was seen leaving the area with the victim's purse.  Police investigated and charged Ms. Croce with Burglary, Theft and Criminal Mischief and bail was set at $28,000.00.  On 06/03/11 through video surveillance, Police were also able to tie Ms. Croce to another crime of receiving stolen property and credit card fraud.  Ms. Croce was charged for that crime as well and bail was set at $12,500.00. Ms. Croce was lodge in Burlington County Jail.


 


05/22/11 0437hrs.  Palmyra Police were contacted by JFK Hospital Doctor and advised about a male victim who was brought into their hospital by personal vehicle with significant head injury.  The hospital advised that the victim stated that he had been assaulted in Palmyra.  They advised that the victim was being transported to Cooper Hospital based on the severity of his injuries.  Detectives were notified to start an investigation.  Detectives were able to piece together through interviews with witnesses and persons involved that the victim had been stabbed in the temple area of his head with a small dagger type knife, during an altercation.  Police arrested David P Bryant, 23yrs old of Monroe, NC for Criminal Attempt Homicide, Aggravated Assault and three weapons charges.  The total bail for these offenses was $165,000.00.  The accused was also found to be a fugitive out of North Carolina with extradition for Kidnapping and Robbery.  A fugitive warrant was typed and bail for that offense was $200,000.00.  Mr. Bryant was placed in Burlington County Jail in lieu of his bail.  The victim was listed as stable as of the afternoon of 5/22/11 when Detective spoke to the victim and Doctors.


 


05/21/11 0954hrs. Palmyra Police were called to investigate a possible bullet hole into a business in the area of Park Ave.  Upon arrival police confirmed that one round from an unknown type handgun had been fired through a window and lodged in the ceiling.  Police Detectives were able to secure the round from the ceiling for follow up investigation.  There were no injuries and witnesses say they thought they heard a single gun shot about 2:00 am.  The Palmyra Police Dept. are asking for the public's help as it is always extremely dangerous when someone is willing to fire a weapon in such a careless manner.  Anyone with any information is encouraged to call police at 856-829-0191 and you may remain anonymous.


 


05/19/11 11PM THURSDAY EVENING, PALMYRA POLICE WERE DISPATCHED TO THE AREA OF THE 600 BLOCK OF LEGION AVE. FOR THE REPORT OF A CAR WINDOW THAT HAD JUST BEEN BROKEN OUT.  UPON ARRIVAL OFFICERS QUICKLY IDENTIFIED THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW OF THE VICTIM'S CAR HAD BEEN SHOT OUT BY ONE 12 GUAGE SHOTGUN ROUND.  THERE WAS NO ONE IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT.  THE SHOTGUN ROUND WOULD HAVE OBVIOUSLY ECHOED LOUDLY AT THAT TIME IN THE EVENING AND POLICE ARE ASKING FOR THE PUBLIC'S HELP IN THIS SERIOUS MATTER.  ANY INFORMATION AT ALL ON THIS INCIDENT SHOULD BE FORWARDED TO THE PALMYRA POLICE DETECTIVE DIVISION BY CALLING 856-829-0191.  CALLERS CAN REMAIN ANONYMOUS.


 


Date: May 10, 2011 @ 12:30pm Palmyra Officers were advised of two (2) suspicious subjects in the area of 103-105 West Broad Street.  This property is a boarded, abandoned property and officers found where boards had been pulled away allowing access to the building.  As officers checked the property one (1) subject was taken into custody as he attempted climb out of the building through a window.  A second subject was found hiding inside the building.  Inside officers found bags containing numerous tools.  Further inspection of the property officers found numerous pieces of copper pipes that had been cut and removed.  They also found that the subjects had cut away the cast iron radiators for removal. 


The subjects Michael Holmes, 31 years of age with a last known address to be in Irvington, NJ and Kevin Evans, 25 years of age, last known address to be in Willignboro were charged with burglary, criminal mischief and possession of burglars tools.  Both subjects were lodged in Burlington County Jail in-lieu of $35,000.00 bail.   


Date: 4/11/11 7:24am Palmyra Officers were called to investigate a past tense Burglary, Theft and Criminal Mischief at a business on Rt. 73 North. Upon arrival the victim stated that sometime over night unknown suspect(s) broke in and stole $2,280.00 worth of copper and damaged property in the amount of $200.00. Police are asking for the public’s help as the theft of copper continues to be an issue. If anyone has any information, please contact police at 856-829-0191.

 


Date: 04/08/11 0204hrs. Palmyra Police received a call from a concerned resident that they believed their neighbors work van was being burglarized in the area of Temple Blvd. While responding to the call police saw a get away vehicle matching the description that had been given by the witness. Police stopped the vehicle and discovered in plain view tools associated with the crime and copper that was later found to be stolen from on top of the work van. Anthony Tedesco, 22yrs old of Philadelphia and Matthew Wisniewski, 22yrs old of Philadelphia were both charged with Criminal Mischief, Theft, and possession of tools used in a crime. Both subjects were served summons and released. The suspect vehicle was also impounded.

 

 

 


Date: 3/14/11 0722hrs. Palmyra Officers were called for a past tense burglary and theft at the Charles St. School. Upon arrival it was discovered that a 42” flat screen monitor, and two computer systems were stolen. After further investigation it was discovered that the suspect(s) likely entered the building on 3/13/11 in the early morning hours. Total theft is estimated at $4,500.00. Police are asking for the public’s help with respect to anything suspicious that may have been observed during that time frame. Please contact Palmyra PD at 856-829-0191.

 


Date: 03/14/11 7:24pm Palmyra Officers were called to a home on Temple Blvd for a past tense burglary and theft. The victim had returned from work to find the house ransacked and $4,030.00 were of missing items including jewelry, Wii game, Nintendo DSI. Through investigation it was learned that the suspect(s) possibly entered the home in the morning hours sometime before lunch. Police are asking for the public’s assistance with any suspicious activity that may have been seen during this time. Please contact Palmyra PD at 856-829-0191.

On Saturday March 5th at approximately 09:50 pm Palmyra Officers were dispatched to Sal’s Pizza on Market Street for the attempted robbery of one of the delivery drivers. The driver told officers that he was delivering an order to a residence in Palmyra when he was called by the Pizza Shop and told that the female that order the food had left her house and was standing at the corner of Market St. and Jefferson St. The driver found the female and when delivering the food she asked if she could pay with a $100.00 bill. As driver pulled out his money to make change the female attempted to grab $100.00 from the driver.


 Investigating officers were able to use cell phone records to locate the suspect at a house on West Front Street. At the house on Front Street officers spoke with Ronnetta Jones. Ms. Jones fit the physical description and was brought to police headquarters for further questioning.

 

At police headquarters Ms. Jones admitted to detectives that she had attempted to rob the driver. Ronetta Jones, age 24 of West Front Street was charged with attempted robbery and lodged in the county jail on $35,000.00 cash bail.

On Saturday March 5th at approximately 01:00 am an officer on patrol along Rt 73 North observed a vehicle driving erratically. When the officer stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver the officer could detect a strong odor of what he believed to be marijuana. The officer received the drivers consent to search the vehicle and found a small amount of marijuana to which the driver admitted was his. The driver Ariel Morales-Miranda of North Eight Street, Philadelphia was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana in an amount under 50 grams.


Mr. Morales-Miranda was processed and released pending court.

 


Date: 02/27/11 1000hrs A Palmyra Officer observed a traffic violation at Rt. 73N and Souder Street and conducted a motor vehicle stop. Dispatcher advised the Officer that the vehicle stopped was wanted as a stolen vehicle out of Cherry Hill earlier in the day. The Officer was able to arrest Samalyz Ocasio-Arufat, 24 yr old female from Philadelphia, PA without incident. The defendant was charged and released pending court.

Sunday February 20th at approximately 11:30 hrs Palmyra Police received a call stating that two (2) subjects had stolen a storm grate from the 700 Block of West Spring Garden Street. The caller advised police that the subjects were driving a red pick up with a Pennsylvania license plate. A broadcast was put out over police radio and Delran Police stopped the vehicle in the area of River Road and Main Street.


Palmyra officers took two (2) occupants of the truck into custody, Felipe Urbina, 60 years old and Lazaro Huinil, 40 years old; both subjects reside in Camden City. Both subjects were charged with theft and lodged in Burlington County Jail in lieu of $2500.00 cash bail. 


 Felipe Urbina was also being held on four (4) outstanding warrants out of Camden City, Pennsauken and South Brunswick. 

 

 

Date: 02/14/11 11:58am Palmyra Officers were called to a business on Rt 73 South for a past tense theft of property. Upon arrival the victim advised that he had 50 vehicle radiators, Echo Backpack leaf blower, and Echo Weedwacker, stolen from his yard. The total value stolen is $3,000.00. The incident likely occurred at night and the items were kept in an open shed on shelves. Police are asking for anyone with information on this theft to contact them at 856-829-0191.

Palmyra Officers were dispatched to Lincoln Ave for a Burglary to a motor vehicle with the victim having captured the suspect. Officers arrived on location to find the victim standing with the suspect outside the victim’s vehicle. The suspect had been caught taking change from the vehicle in the amount of $4.00. Officers took Gerald Hancock, 41 yrs old of 879 Powell Street in Gloucester City into custody. Mr. Hancock was also found to be in possession of a knife. Mr. Hancock was charged with Burglary, theft and Possession of a knife and bail was set by Judge at $26,000.00. The defendant was transported to Burlington County Jail.

 


Date: 1/25/11 12:26PM Palmyra Officers were called to a home on Delaware Ave for a past tense burglary to the residence. In speaking to the victim, they learned that she left for work at 7:45am and returned for lunch at 12:20pm and found the home had been burglarized. Police are very concerned and would appreciate any information anyone may have on this incident, as the victim reported that two legally purchased handguns were stolen from the residence. One weapon is a 22 cal. Ruger and the other is a 45 cal. Kimber. Anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity is asked to contact Palmyra PD immediately at 856-829-0191.

 



Date: 01/24/11 1823hrs Officers were dispatched to a past tense Burglary on Park Ave. The victim came home from work to find their apartment had been burglarized. At approximately 1pm tenant from a separate apartment confronted two Hispanic males and one white or Hispanic female in the area of victim’s apartment. They immediately told the tenant that they were just helping move some things for the victim and they asked if he wanted rock salt spread on his sidewalks. This comment made the tenant think that they belonged in the area.   Possibly one male had facial hair and wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and a wool cap. Stolen items include; laptop, Comcast box, remote control and security box. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Palmyra PD immediately at 856-829-0191.

 

 

 

Date: 01/18/11 6:12am Palmyra Officers were called to the Harbour Section of Palmyra for the report of a stolen vehicle over night. The victim told Officers that her 1996 dark green Honda Accord had been stolen from the parking lot some time over night. Police are asking all residents to always lock all doors and have all windows in the up position when leaving your car. Any information on this case should be forwarded to the Palmyra Police Dept. at 856-829-0191.

 

 

Date: 01/08/11 7:52am Palmyra Officers were called to handle a theft of motor vehicle complaint in the Palmyra Harbour area. Upon arrival Police were advised by the victim that their 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo bearing NJ ZDD-97J was stolen over night. Palmyra PD is asking for anyone who has any information related to this theft to contact them at 856-829-0191.

 

 


Date: 01/06/11 8:42AM Palmyra Officers were dispatched to a business on Spring Garden St. for a theft complaint. Upon arrival Officers were advised that sometime over night between 01/05/11 and 01/06/11 unknown person(s) got into the fenced in area and cut six copper welding leads from trucks and stole same. The copper leads are valued at $1,800.00. Police are asking for anyone who has any knowledge about this theft to contact Palmyra PD at 856-829-0191

On Friday December 31, 2010 Wendy Ballance, age 35 of Mount Holly reported to Palmyra Police that she had been robbed at knife point by a white male. Ms. Ballance told officers that she had been riding the light rail train and was speaking to a fellow passenger. She said that they both got off the train in Palmyra where the white male followed her to the 100 block of East Broad Street; he then pulled a knife robbing her of $700.00.


Further investigation by a Palmyra Detective revealed that Ms. Ballance was not being truthful in her statements to police. When questioned further Ms. Ballance admitted to not being robbed. She informed a Detective that she had met an old boy friend at the Palmyra Light Rail Station and that she felt that he was bothering her. She stated that she thought that she would report the robbery so that he would be arrested. Ms. Ballance was charged with filing a false police report and released pending court.

On Thursday December 30, 2010 members of the Palmyra / Delran Joint Tactical Team executed a search warrant for an apartment on the 400 Block of Cinnaminson Ave. Palmyra Detectives received information of possible drug activity. Investigation led detectives to apply for a search warrant looking for drugs and equipment related to the growing and cultivating of marijuana. Detectives recovered over fifty (50) plants suspected to be marijuana, lamps and equipment used for the cultivation of plants and supplies used to package finished product for resale.


The apartment’s tenant Catrina L. Jones, age 19 was charged with numerous offenses including maintaining a facility for the manufacturing or growing of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and manufacturing a Controlled Dangerous Substance. Ms. Jones was lodged in Burlington County Jail in lieu of $150,000.00 bail

On Sunday December 26, 2010 at approximately 11:07 pm a Palmyra Officer was parked in the area of Broad Street and Cinnaminson Ave.  The officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed for the heavy snow conditions at the time.  The officer also watched as the vehicle slid to a stop for the traffic light and noticed the passenger windows to be totally snow covered.


The officer attempted to stop the vehicle which took several blocks to stop.  Once stopped the officer observed actions by the driver which led him to believe the driver was intoxicated.  The driver was placed under arrest for DWI when the officer found a pipe believed to be used to smoke CDS.  The driver was transported to Palmyra Police Hq's where he was charged with DWI, careless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia,  The driver Martin McDevitt, 21 years old of Riverton, Nj was released pending court.

 On Saturday December 18, 2010 Palmyra Police Officers and Investigators from Stumar Investigations of Norristown, Pa. arrested two (2) subjects for trademark counterfeiting at the Palmyra Flea Market. Police seized a large amount of counterfeit perfume and Uggs footwear. Further investigation from these arrests by Palmyra Detectives and Stumar Investigations led to the Christmas Eve arrest of Lei Shen, 33 years old from Seattle Washington and Daryl Jones, 35 years old from Zebulon, NC. Both subjects were arrested at the Palmyra Flea Market where it is alleged that Lei Shen is a supplier of counterfeit products to mart vendors. Police confiscated a large amount of counterfeit items copied from numerous manufactures. Items included copied items by UGG, Timberland, Northface and Coach. 


 Lei Shen was charged with numerous offenses and lodged in Burlington County Jail on $35,000.00 bail. Daryl Jones was charged and released pending court.

12/05/10 9:28am Palmyra Police were called to take a report from a victim in the Harbour section, for a vehicle taken without owners consent. The victim advised Police that he was attempting to help, Albert Weirman get back on his feet by letting him stay with him for a few days. During this period he asked to borrow the victim’s vehicle to go to Wawa and never returned with the vehicle. The vehicle was a 1999 Buick. Through the efforts of police in combination with the victim and a substantial amount of follow up investigation Mr. Weirman 42yrs old of Palmyra, NJ was arrested without incident and lodged in Burlington Co. Jail on $2,500.00 bail.

While a Palmyra Officer was on patrol and making business checks, he observed a subject in a fenced in area of a business on Fourth Street. The subject was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up over his head. The Officer immediately ordered the man to stop. The subject then began running to the opposite side of the fenced yard and ran up a wood pile and jumped the fence. The Officer and his partner were waiting for him and apprehended him on the other side of the fence. Police later found that the subject was attempting to steal metal from the yard for salvage purposes. This has been an ongoing problem for many towns. Kevin Riley, 51yrs old of Palmyra was arrested and charged with Defiant Trespasser, Theft and Resisting arrest. Bail was set at $5,000.00 and he was remanded to the Burlington County Jail.

A Palmyra Officer took a report for Criminal Mischief in the form of graffiti at the Legion Field Complex at 300 W. Broad St. Unknown suspect(s) painted on both sides of the brick wall at the skate park and on a nearby Electrical box owned by NJ Transit. This type of behavior defaces the park that has been put in place for everyone’s enjoyment. Police are asking for every resident to be our eyes and ears as you travel throughout the Borough and please contact police immediately if you see anything like this being done or any crime committed. The Police need your help. Please call 856-829-0191 if you have any information or something to report. Call 911 for emergencies.

 


Date: 11/04/10 7:58am Palmyra Officers were dispatched for a past tense Burglary at a Business on Kennedy Street. Upon arrival the owner explained that the alarm to the building had gone off during the night at approximately 2:30am. Palmyra Officers checked the building and had the emergency contact respond as well to check the building but at that time the owner did not notice that a computer monitor and a stainless steal box were taken. The suspect(s) had come through a window to gain access during the night but were careful to shut the window when exiting the property. Officers noticed that a draw string from the curtain was trapped in the window when the suspects closed the window during their escape. The value of stolen property is estimated at $250.00. Police are asking for your help. If anyone has any information on this case they should contact Palmyra PD at 856-829-0191.

 


Date:10/17/10 1212HRS. Palmyra Officers were called to a residence on Garfield Ave that had been posted for “no Trespassing” and was vacant. The caller saw a black male wearing a sponge bob backpack run through the yard and into the back of the residence. Officers arrived and set up a perimeter around the property. A search was conducted and Gary Boone 20yrs old of Palmyra, was found hiding in the basement under a blanket. Mr. Boone was arrested and charged with Defiant Trespass and Obstruction and was released pending court.

 


Date:10/18/10 4:11am While on routine patrol an alert Palmyra Officer observed two subjects near Legion Ave. One subject immediately ducked behind a building while the other subject was detained. The subject that ducked behind the building was carrying what looked like scrap metal. The Officer checked the area where the subject ran and found scrap metal piled against the wall of a business. He went behind the business and found a larger stack of scrap metal. Assisting Officers heard the second subject running through yards and he was subsequently apprehended. Once Officers identified the suspects they were able to check the residence of Kevin Riley (suspect) and find more scrap metal in his driveway leaning against a vehicle. Police spoke to owner of Brooks roofing, who identified the scrap metal as his and that it had been stored in his fenced in lot at his place of business which is in close proximity to the arrest. Both Michael Butler 53yrs old of Palmyra and Kevin Riley 51yrs old of Palmyra were charged with Criminal Trespass and Theft and released pending court

 

 

 






Date: 10/09/10 7:44pm Palmyra Officers were called to Koz’s BMW on Rt. 73 for a theft, trespassing and criminal mischief that had just occurred. When Officers arrived they were advised that the owner had just scared off the suspect who was underneath a vehicle, attempting to steal a catalytic converter from a BMW vehicle that was in for service. The owner explained that the item is worth $3,000.00. The suspect was described as a possibly a Hispanic male wearing black hat, dark shirt and jeans and rode off on a BMX style bike on Rt. 73 towards River Rd. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,000.00 as the suspect had sawed off the part. Palmyra PD is asking for assistance with the case and if anyone has any information to contact police at 856-829-0198. 

 

Date: 10/10/10 12:54am Palmyra Officer stopped a 1992 Mitsubishi for doing 64mph in a 35mph zone. The driver, Lenora Best 29yrs old of Cinnaminson Twp was subsequently arrested for driving while under the influence after field sobriety tests were conducted on scene. The driver was processed and further tests were conducted at headquarters. Ms. Best was released pending court.

 

Date: 09/25/10 Officers and a detective from the Palmyra PD along with two investigators from the Recording Industry Assoc. of America worked jointly on an investigation at the Tacony Palmyra Flea Market. The investigation resulted in the arrest of two individuals for selling counterfeit audio and video recordings. The arrest resulted in the seizure of 5,850 counterfeit music CD’s, 8 music DVD’s, $269.00 in cash, one van, numerous tables, generator, and sound equipment. Paul Phillips, 46yrs old of Parkesburg, NJ and Wilbur Thomas, 41yrs old of Trenton, NJ were both charged with numerous NJ anti-piracy offenses, forgery, conspiracy and were both lodged in Burlington Co. Jail in lieu of $30,000.00 bail each.

 

 

Date: 09/29/10 8:08am Palmyra Police were called to investigate to 600 block of Kennedy Street to investigate a burglary, theft and criminal mischief at a business. Upon arrival police were advised that four custom made metal doors and six cases of shotgun ammunition were stolen from a fenced in area and from a storage bin. The total loss was valued at $1,500.00 and $60.00 in damage for locks that had been cut off the storage bins. This incident occurred sometime over night at police are asking for anyone who may know something about this case to contact the Palmyra PD at 856-829-0191

On Sunday September 19, 2010 at approximately 6:05 pm Palmyra Officers were called to the 700 Block of Garfield for the theft of bike. Investigating officers were advised of two (2) subjects that had taken a bike from the porch of a residence on the 700 block of Garfield Ave. The officers located the bike on the NJ Transit Light Rail platform and found two (2) suspects in the area. Both suspects were identified by witnesses and placed under arrest.

 The two (2) subjects were juveniles from Camden City who had come to Palmyra via Light Rail. Both were charged with theft and released to relatives pending court.

On Sunday September 19, 2010 at approximately 2:56 pm a Palmyra Officer performed a random check of a vehicle registration while traveling along Rt 73. The random check revealed the vehicle to have been stolen from Cinnaminson Twp earlier in the month. The officer stopped the vehicle along RT 73 and the driver Robert Szcepanski, 39 years of age from Philadelphia was taken into custody with incident. Mr. Szcepanski was also found to be in possession of 11 packets believed to be cocaine.  

Mr. Szcepanski was charged with receiving stolen property and numerous drug charges. Mr. Szcepanski was lodged in Burlington County Jail on $45,000.00 bail.

On Saturday September 18, 2010 at approximately 10:57 pm a Palmyra Officer observed a vehicle weaving from lane to lane while traveling north on Market Street. The officer was able to stop the vehicle on Temple Blvd. The driver, John Maher of Temple Blvd in Palmyra appeared to be intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests. Mr. Maher was placed under arrest for DWI and found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. 

 

Mr. Maher was charged with DWI and Possession of Marijuana in an amount under 50 grams and was released pending court.

On Saturday September 18, 2010 at approximately 4:37 pm a Palmyra Officer observed a vehicle traveling the wrong way on a one way street. When the officer stopped the vehicle the driver appeared to be intoxicated. The driver, Christina Tucker, 41 years of age from Moorestown failed Field Sobriety Tests and was arrested for DWI. Ms. Tucker was transported to Palmyra Police Hq’s where she was processed for DWI. She was charged with DWI and Refusal to Submit to Breath Tests. Ms. Tucker was released pending court.

Palmyra Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for unregistered vehicle. The driver was found to have three outstanding warrants totaling $2,300.00. Tariq Mughal, 24yrs old of Moorestown was taken into custody and a subsequent search produced a small amount of marijuana on his person. He was charged accordingly and a judge placed bail on him of $5,000.00. Mr. Mughal was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in lieu of his bail.

Palmyra Officers were flagged down by an individual that said his cell phone was just stolen. The victim explained that a suspect who said his name was “Dante” approached the victim and asked for change. The victim while searching for some change, engaged the suspect in conversation and that’s when the suspect said his name was Dante. The suspect then took the victim’s cell phone from his hand and ran down the street with it. The suspect is described as a thin to medium build black male in his late teens with short black hair. The suspect was wearing a blue polo shirt and dark blue jean shorts. Police are asking for anyone with any information on this incident to contact the Palmyra PD at 856-829-0191 or 856-829-0198

Palmyra Officers were dispatched to the Palmyra Harbor area for a criminal mischief report. Upon arrival the victim explained that sometime over night unknown person(s) had keyed his 2005 Pontiac Bonneville over almost the entire surface of the vehicle causing an estimated $5,000.00 worth of damage. Police are asking for anyone who may have seen anything related to this case to contact them at 856-829-0191 or 856-829-0198.

Palmyra Police were dispatched for a burglary to a residence on Orchard Ave. Upon arrival police were advised by the homeowner that the suspect had just left out the rear of the residence on foot. Police were unable to locate the subject. He was described as a dark skinned black male, wearing a black t-shirt and black long shorts, approximately 5’7” to 5’10” tall. Several items were stolen from the home totaling $170.00 in value. There was nobody hurt as a result of this incident. Police are asking anyone with any information to contact the Palmyra Police Dept. 856-829-0191.

An investigation by Palmyra Police Detectives led to the arrest of Corey Smith, 21 yrs old of Palmyra,NJ for theft. Mr. Smith had stolen Play Station unit, play station games, numerous pieces of jewelry totaling $1,075.00 in value and pawned it off at area stores. He stole the items from victim he was residing with at the time. Mr. Smith was lodged in Burlington Co. Jail in lieu of $5,000.00 bail.

After a lengthy investigation Palmyra Police Detectives charged  Tony Petrozelli, 40 yrs old of Cherry Hill, NJ for Burglary, Theft & Criminal Mischief for breaking into the Roger Wilco Liquor store on Rt 73 in Palmyra on 07/17/10. He had broken into numerous other establishments in the County and faces multiple charges. Bail for Palmyra charges is $35,000.00 and he is currently incarcerated.

Palmyra Officers conducted a pedestrian stop in the center of town and found Thomas J. Edgecomb, 47 of Delran, NJ to have warrants totaling $35,280.00. The subject was also in possession of suspected marijuana in a quantity less than 50 grams. The subject was charged for the possession on a summons and transported to Burlington Co. 2:36pm During a motor vehicle stop, police conducted an investigation and learned that the passenger in the vehicle they had stopped was a wanted fugitive out of HillsBorough Co. South Tampa Florida. The subject Thomas Farrell, 42yrs old gave false information to police but eventually his true identity was learned. He was wanted for parole violations for distribution of Controlled dangerous substances. Palmyra Police took custody of the subject and charged him as a fugitive from justice and obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer and transported to Burlington County Jail on $17,500.00 bail.

1:51am Palmyra Officer came upon a group of subjects in the Borough parking lot off of Leconey Ave. in the dumpster area. The subjects attempted to flee but were ordered back by Officers. An alert Officer noticed a small baggie of suspected marijuana on the ground and one person’s feet. The subject Joseph Jardel, 20yrs old of Pennsauken, NJ admitted to having discarded the narcotic so he was therefore arrested for Possession of Marijuana under 50 grams and released pending court

3:05am Palmyra Police were dispatched to River Rd for a vehicle on fire. Upon arrival Officers found the interior of a vehicle fully involved. Pennsauken Fire Dept. extinguished the fire due to the original caller giving an incorrect location. There were no injuries at the scene and no driver for the vehicle involved. 5:45am this same date Riverside Police were called for a report of a stolen car in their town. Investigation revealed that the vehicle on fire was the stolen vehicle from Riverside. Palmyra Police will be investigating this case as an Arson. Police are asking for help from anyone who may have drove by the area of River Rd. near Frenzel’s Auto Repair during the time in question and possibly witnessed something. Please contact Palmyra Police at 856-829-0191 if you have any information at all.

 


 

Date: 07/17/10

 

3:19am Palmyra Police were dispatched to Roger Wilco Liquor Store on Rt. 73N for a burglar alarm. Upon arrival Officers found the glass to the front door broken out. A K-9 search of the building and surrounding area was negative for any suspects. Detectives were able to review surveillance cameras and a suspect was seen breaking out the glass with a hammer, entering the building and stealing a display shelf containing approximately 10 cartons of cigarettes. Stolen merchandise was estimated at $750.00 and damage to window at $1,000.00. The suspect was a white male dressed in a dark blue coat, blue jeans and a dark colored mask on. Police are asking for anyone that may have any information on this crime to contact Palmyra Police at 856-829-0191. You may remain anonymous.

At 3:55pm Palmyra Police stopped Ryan Andrien 19, of Pottstown, Pa for not keeping his vehicle within the proper lane on Cinnaminson Ave. and utilizing a cell phone in his hand while steering with the other hand. Once stopped the Officer conducted further investigation and found the driver to be under the influence of alcoholic beverage and subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated. The driver was processed at headquarters and issued nine motor vehicle summons and released to a friend after proper documentation was signed.

3:15am Palmyra Police were dispatched to the 800 block of Cinnaminson Ave for the report of a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival Police found that one vehicle had struck two parked vehicles. After further investigation it was learned that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated under age and careless driving. The female Jessica Kennedy 19 of Cinnaminson was processed and released to a parent after proper forms were completed.

A Palmyra Police Officer conducted a motor vehicle stop at 11:57pm on this date at Rt. 73N and Fifth St. After smelling suspected burnt marijuana emanating from the driver’s compartment, the Officer began to peer inside the vehicle with his flashlight and immediately noticed a small amount of suspected marijuana between the driver’s seat and the door. The driver Robert Gibson 32, of Camden, NJ was taken into custody without incident and charged and releases for Possession of marijuana.

A home invasion occurred at approximately 11:30am this date. Police were dispatched to a home on Race Street, where the elderly resident was unsure if the perpetrator was still on location. Police searched the residence and no suspects were found. The front door had been pushed in or kicked in and minimal property was taken. The resident had awoken to her bedroom door being pulled shut and by the time she called 911 and got out of bed the suspect(s) were gone. Police are asking for anyone who has any information about this incident to please contact police immediately at 856-829-0191. No piece of information is too small.

On June 30, 2010 at 5:22 pm Palmyra Police Officers were dispatched to the Roger Wilco Liquor Store for a disorderly subject. Officer’s enroute to Roger Wilco were informed that a black female in a white a shirt had caused damage in the store and left in a maroon Nissan with a Pennsylvania registration. A Palmyra Officer in the area found the vehicle parked in the Administration Parking Lot of the Burlington County Bridge Commission on Market Street. 


 

As Officers attempted to speak to the occupants of the vehicle the driver Elizabeth Washington-Diaz, 22 years of age from Philadelphia became loud cursing at officers. She refused to answer officer’s questions and refused to provide officers with her name or identification. Ms. Washington-Diaz was taken into custody and charged with Obstruction of Justice, Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Mischief. 

 

Investigation revealed that Ms. Washington-Diaz became upset inside Roger Wilco when employees refused to serve her or her friend without either of them producing id to confirm that they were over the age of 21 and allowed to legally purchase alcoholic beverages. Ms. Washington-Diaz proceeded to curse at store employees and knocked over and damaged a computer monitor and display.

 

Ms. Washington-Diaz was processed at Palmyra Police Headquarters and released pending court.

On June 25, 2010 at approximately 11:57 pm a Palmyra Officer on patrol along Rt. 73 North stopped a vehicle on the toll plaza of the Tacony Palmyra Bridge for a traffic offense. The driver Rasul H. Dunlap, 25 years of age from Camden City claimed not to have a drivers license in his possession and provided the name of Matthew Dunlap to officers. A check of the information provided was found to belong to a deceased subject. Rasul H. Dunlap was placed under arrest for hindering apprehension. As officers were completing paper work they found a NJ Id Card for Rasul Dunlap. A warrants check revealed that Rasul Dunlap had numerous outstanding warrants.


Also in the vehicle in plain sight officers found a container containing suspected marijuana. The front seat passenger, Shawn Singleton, 29 years of age from Camden City advised officers that the container was his and he was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana.


 

The back seat passenger Hasaan Custis, 29 years of age from Camden City was found to have an outstanding warrant out Cherry Hill Municipal Court. Hasaan Custis was taken into custody on this warrant.

 

All three (3) subjects were taken to police headquarters for processing. Rasul Dunlap was charged with hindering apprehension and transported to Burlington County Jail on this charge and five (5) outstanding warrants.

 

Shawn Singleton was charged with possession of marijuana and released pending court.

 

Hasaan Custis was released by Cherry Hill municipal court with a new court date.

On June 25, 2010 at approximately 7:40 pm a Palmyra Officer on patrol in the area of Market Street observed a white Chevrolet being operated by a subject he knew to be wanted by the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department. The officer stopped the vehicle in the closed Dunkin Donuts parking lot along Rt 73 and Souder Street. The driver Gregory Grimes II, 29 years old from Philadelphia was taken into custody on an outstanding child support warrant out of Burlington County Superior Court. Mr. Grimes was also charged with driving on a suspended license. Mr. Grimes was lodged in Burlington County Jail.

Palmyra Police observed a dispute between two vehicles on Rt. 73 S. and Souder St where five subjects were out of two vehicles. Police investigated the situation and arrested Aaron Johnson 22yrs old of Burlington City, NJ for possession of suspected marijuana under 50 grams. He was served a summons and released. All parties had been at a club in Philadelphia where one of the subjects got very intoxicated and was starting problems with his other friends causing the suspect to want him out of his vehicle which led to the police involvement.

Palmyra Officers arrested Arnaldo Diaz 21yrs old of Philadelphia, PA for outstanding Violation of Probation warrant and possession of cocaine. The defendant was stopped for motor vehicle violations and found to have a warrant and was therefore taken into custody. While in custody the defendant was found to have a small amount of cocaine hidden in his pant leg. Bail was set at $10,000.00 and the defendant was transported to Burlington County Jail.

Police were called to Palmyra Liquors, 107 West Broad Street for an armed robbery at gunpoint. A light skin black male wearing a black mask and black shirt entered the store and approached the store manager brandishing a small handgun. The subject took money from the mangers pockets and the cash register. The subject was last seen leaving the store towards Leconey Ave. No injuries were reported, the subject made off with an undisclosed amount of money. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Palmyra Police Detective Bureau at 856-829-0198.

Palmyra Police were called to investigate a theft at the Country Fresh Market 9 East Broad St. The owner advised that he had a black Calvin Klein bag ($100.00) taken along with a Garmin Navigation System ($129.00) and Apple Ipod ($300.00) that were inside the bag. The owner believed he had a good idea who committed the theft based on surveillance cameras at the store. Detectives were able to follow up with the owner and retrieve copies of the footage. On 6/17/10 detectives were able to apprehend the suspect using the footage from the camera and then doing their own surveillance in the area of the Riverline Train Platform. The suspect was found to be Eduard R. Morales 21 of Camden, NJ. Detectives were able to retrieve all the missing merchandise with no loss or damage. The suspect was charged with indictable theft.

Palmyra Officer arrested Ruth Schmid 52yrs old of Cinnaminson, NJ for Driving while intoxicated, Consumption of alcohol in a vehicle, Careless Driving, Leaving the scene of an accident and Failure to report an accident. Police received a call that the defendant had struck two parked vehicles in the area of Walnut Street and W. Spring Garden Street and was still driving through the Borough. Police were able to stop the female without further incident at Cinnaminson Ave and W. Henry St.

Palmyra Police Officers worked in conjunction with Stumar Investigations on a special operation at the Palmyra Flea Market. This operation was an effort to make arrests for the selling of counterfeit merchandise. Officers were able to arrest Oi Ping Ha 48yr old female from Woodside, NY. The defendant was apprehended selling counterfeit jewelry in the name of Chanel, Guggi, Tiffany, Juicy Couture and Coach. She was in possession of 1,574 pieces of illegal jewelry. The suspect was charged with Trademark Counterfeiting, Criminal Simulation, Forgery, Theft by Deception and bail was set at $40,000.00. The suspect was lodged in the Burlington County Jail.

Palmyra Officer made a motor vehicle stop during a “click it or ticket” detail on a 1993 tan Buick for the operator not wearing a seatbelt. Subsequent investigation revealed that the driver, Keane Davis of Philadelphia, PA had two outstanding warrants totaling $934.00 and was found to be in possession of an Elishewitz Combat Knife. The suspect was charged with possession of weapon and turned over to Moorestown PD for the warrants.

Palmyra Officers were dispatched for a theft in progress from a motor vehicle parked in the Borough parking lot off Leconey Ave. Upon arrival the suspect, Leslie Libby of Riverton, NJ had left the area in a Ford Taurus, Black in color. Police stopped the vehicle a few blocks away and the suspect was charged with Criminal Attempt of Theft for attempting to steal a roll of copper from the victims van. The suspect was served with a special complaint and released from Palmyra Police Headquarters pending court.

11:57am Palmyra Police were called to investigate a Fraud committed upon an elderly female. The victim told police that a white male knocked on her door on 5/14/10 and said he was from “All City Fire Protection”. He claimed he was sent there by a contractor that the victim frequently uses. He said he was there to look at her chimney. The victim thought nothing of it and permitted him to enter. He proposed a bid for $2,000.00 to do work on the chimney. She allowed the work to be done but was not sure if anything was ever really completed so she placed a stop on the check that she had issued. The contractor never returned to question the stopped check and repeated calls to the phone number given by the contractor went unanswered.  Police also made numerous attempts to call the contractor.  The phone rings and rings and then eventually stops without any answering service. The suspects drove in a white van with no business markings on the side. The victim describes the only two men she saw as white males with dark hair and one taller than the other. Police are asking everyone to be vigilant in watching for such activity and to contact police if you see anyone going house to house to do work. If you see a van fitting this description stopping at houses in your neighborhood, please call police 856-829-0191.

8:07am Palmyra Police were called to investigate a lost/stolen cellular telephone from the Light Rail Train platform at Broad St and Cinnaminson Ave. The victim accidentally left her cellular phone on one of the benches when she got on the train. When she realized and came back it was gone. Anyone who might have seen someone pick up a phone on that date should call Palmyra PD at 856-829-0191. The missing phone was a black T-Mobile Motor Blur Cliq with purple cover.

4:30pm Palmyra Police were called to investigate a stolen bicycle at the Palmyra High School. The victim left his bike at the bike rack while he/she went into the High School for just a few minutes and when he/she returned the bike was gone. The missing bike is a Mongoose BMX bicycle with tan handle bars valued at $100.00. If anyone has any information with respect to this case, please contact Palmyra PD at 856-829-0191.

Report was made to Palmyra Police that a vehicle was stolen from the Tacony Flea Market between 12pm and 1pm. The vehicle was a 1994 Mazda Protégé 4dr, black in color bearing PA GRX-8378. There was also a television in the vehicle that had been purchased at the Flea Market. There was no make or model for the television.

On May 14, 2010 at approximately 7:00 am Palmyra Police Detectives assisted by the Palmyra / Delran Joint SWAT Team executed a search warrant on a residence on the 1000 block of Harbour Dr. in Palmyra. The execution of the search warrant culminated an investigation by Palmyra Detectives into drug sales from the residence. 


During a search of the residence detective’s recovered controlled substances believed to be marijuana and cocaine packaged for sale along with drug paraphernalia.  


The resident Moral Best age 38 was charged with numerous drug offenses and lodged in the Burlington County Jail on $87,500.00 bail.

Palmyra Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for motor vehicle violations on Rt. 73 South. The driver, Jason Flory 33 of Burlington, NJ was asked for his driver credentials to which he said he did not have his license with him. The driver opened his center console and officers saw a Pennsylvania Drivers license. At closer inspection police saw suspected marijuana in the console on top of the drivers license. Mr. Flory was taken into custody and charged with Possession of Controlled dangerous substance and several motor vehicle violations and released.

 

Date: May 3rd, 2010 2017hrs.

 

Palmyra Police were called to investigate Criminal Mischief to a vehicle at the parking lot adjacent to the new football field at Legion Pk. Police spoke to the victim who said he parked his 2001, Nissan Maxima in the parking lot near the football field at 6:15pm and when he returned to his car at 8:15pm the back window was shattered. Numerous rocks were seen around the vehicle that could have caused the damage. Damage was estimated at $300.00

Palmyra Police were called to investigate a stolen motor vehicle from the Tacony Palmyra Flea Market. Officers spoke to the victim who stated that while shopping at the flea market his 2007 black Subaru 4dr Impazza wrx sti bearing NJ WKU-90T was stolen. The vehicle was valued at $25,000.00. The vehicle was entered into NCIC so that any police nationwide who would come in contact with the vehicle could determine that it was stolen.

Palmyra Officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rt. 73 North for motor vehicle violations. Upon gathering information from the driver, David Beckles 40 of Philadelphia, PA, it was learned through NCIC check that he was a Fugitive from Justice out of Bucks County, PA for receiving stolen property. The subject was also found to have six other warrants totaling $5,030.00. The subject was issued several motor vehicle summons and was charged as a fugitive and lodged in the Burlington County Jail pending extradition.

 

APRIL 10, 2010 @ 4:23 PM


On Saturday April 10th at approximately 4:23 pm Palmyra Borough Councilman Theodore Scott was walking through Palmyra’s Legion Field. Mr. Scott observed 8 to 10 white males approximately 17 to 20 years old skate boarding on benches and walls not meant for skateboarding. Mr. Scott approached the skateboarders in an attempt to have them move to the Borough Skate Park. The subjects jumped Mr. Scott knocking him to the ground where they struck and kicked him. The subjects fled from the area leaving Mr. Scott who required medical attention. Anyone with information on the subjects involved is asked to contact the Palmyra Police Department Detective Bureau at 856-829-0198 or via e-mail at police [at] boroughofpalmyra [dot] com (police [at] boroughofpalmyra [dot] com)


APRIL 10, 2010 @ 12:57 AM


On Saturday April 10th at approximately 12:57 am a Palmyra Officer attempted to stop a gold Saturn along Rt. 73 North in the area of FC Kerbecks. The driver of the car was having a hard time keeping the vehicle in one lane of travel and was believed to be possibly intoxicated. The driver turned the vehicle into the jug handle in front of FC Kerbeck Cadillac traveling in the wrong direction and continued on to enter Rt 73 North traveling in the wrong direction at a high rate of speed. Officers did not follow the vehicle onto Rt 73 North. Palmyra Officers entered Rt. 73 South in an attempt to keep contact with the vehicle and notify on coming drivers. 


 

As officers caught up to the vehicle they observed it collide head on with another vehicle. The driver of the Saturn, Christopher Long, 26 years of age of Lumberton, NJ ran from his car into a wooded area along the Pennsauken Creek where officers were able to apprehend him. 

 

The driver of the vehicle struck by Christopher Long was transported to Cooper Medical Center where he was treated and released.

 

Christopher Long was charged with Assault by Vehicle, Eluding Police, DWI and numerous motor vehicle offenses. Christopher Long was lodged in Burlington County Jail on $20,000.00 bail.

MARCH 28, 2010


On Sunday March 28th at approximately 9:55pm Palmyra Officers were dispatched to 213 South Route 73 for subjects illegally dumping trash. Arriving officers found a box truck backed to a fence. The driver Eugenio Rodriguez, 37 years of age from Philadelphia admitted that he had dumped drywall, wood and other building items in the weeds and grass. Mr. Rodriguez was charged with illegal dumping and released pending court. 


MARCH 27, 2010


On Saturday March 27th at approximately 3:40am a Palmyra Officer observed a red Jeep Wrangler driving erratically on South Broad Street in the area of Morgan Ave. After speaking to the driver and having him attempt Field Sobriety Tests the investigating officer believed the driver to be intoxicated and unable to safely operate a motor vehicle.


The driver Dane Sharp, 23 years old from Riverside, NJ was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Refusal to Submit to Breath Tests and Careless Driving. Mr. Sharp was released to a relative pending court. 

MARCH 18, 2010


On Thursday March 18th at approximately 12:30am a Palmyra Officer stopped a Honda Civic in the area of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Spring Garden Street and Pennsylvania Ave.  The officer had observed the Honda being operated with out its lights on.  The driver was also driving erratically and did not stop for numerous stop signs.  <?xml:namespace prefix = o />


 


When the officer made contact with the driver Daniel Walters, 20 years of age from Maple Shade the officer observed Daniel was attempting to conceal a case beer between his legs.  Daniel was taken into custody for underage possession of alcoholic beverages.  Daniel was processed and release pending court.  A 19 year old passenger was released at the scene. 


MARCH 17, 2010


On Wednesday March 17th at approximately 9:30am a Palmyra Officer stopped a Mazda Protégé on Route 73 South in the area of River Road for a motor vehicle violation.  Further investigation revealed that the license plate on the vehicle was not the assigned plate and belonged to another car.  Officers found that the car had been reported stolen in Philadelphia on March 11, 2010.


 


The driver Joshua Garner, 18 years old from Riverside was arrested for receiving stolen property.  Mr. Garner was processed and released pending court. The passenger a 15 year old female from Philadelphia was turned over to a family member. 


 


MARCH 10, 2010


On Wednesday March 10th at approximately 8:15pm Palmyra Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Pear Street for one or two suspicious subjects sitting in a dark colored car. The caller believed that one of the subjects had a gun earlier in the day.


 

Arriving officers did find a dark colored Mercury parked in the middle of the 100 block of Pear Street. The vehicle was occupied by one subject who admitted to have been smoking marijuana prior to the officers arriving. The subject Carl Pierce Jr. of the 100 block of Pear Street was found to be in possession of two baggies of marijuana. 

 

Carl Pierce Jr. was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance within a school zone and failure to surrender a controlled substance to a law enforcement. Carl Pierce Jr. was released on $25,000.00 bond pending court.

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 27, 2010


On Saturday February 27th at approximately 2:20 am a Palmyra Officer observed a vehicle traveling along Rt. 73 South having a problem maintaining the lane of travel.  The vehicle came close to making contact with the concrete median.   When the vehicle was stopped the driver was found to have been consuming alcoholic beverages and impaired.  The driver Stephen Ponente Jr. of Philadelphia was placed under arrest for DWI.  Mr. Ponente was processed and released pending court. 


 


SUNDAY JANUARY 24, 2010


 On Sunday January 24th at approximately 3:30 am Palmyra Officers responded to the 700 block of Park Ave for a motor vehicle crash. Arriving officers found that a vehicle traveling down Park Ave had struck a parked car. The investigating officer spoke to the driver who said that he dropped an item and was attempting to pick it up. The officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage and believed the driver to be intoxicated. Field Sobriety Tests were conducted and the driver Alonzo Brown of the 400 block of West Broad Street, Palmyra was placed under arrest for DWI. Mr. Brown was processed and released pending court. 


FRIDAY JANUARY 22 / SATURDAY JANUARY 23, 2010

On Friday January 22nd the Palmyra Police were notified by Philadelphia Police Detectives that they had obtained an arrest warrant for Robert Carey of Riverfront Drive, Palmyra. The Philadelphia warrant was for Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault and Terroristic Threats. The Philadelphia Detectives requested the assistance of the Palmyra P.D. in apprehending Mr. Carey. Palmyra officers provided surveillance of the address given by Philadelphia Detectives and on Saturday January 23rd at approximately 9:30 am Palmyra officers observed Mr. Carey exit his residence and enter a blue Mercedes SUV.


 

As Mr. Carey and a female companion drove out of the housing complex officers stopped the vehicle. Mr. Carey was taken into custody and charged as being a fugitive from justice. Mr. Carey was lodged in Burlington County Jail awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.

On Thursday January 21, 2010 @ approximately 12:05 pm officers were dispatched to Palmyra High School for a fight. Responding officers were advised that the School Principal and a School staff member had been struck. Arriving officers were informed by school personnel that several students in the cafeteria had gotten into a verbal argument. As the principal and staff members attempted to escort those involved from the cafeteria to the office a female juvenile student pulled away from the school principal. The student then grabbed the principal’s arm and pulled her. As a school staff member attempted to assist the principal he was struck from behind by an adult male student.

POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING SPRAY PAINTED TAGS THAT WERE PAINTED IN THE AREA OF SIXTH STREET AND RACE STREET, SIXTH STREET AND VINE STREET AND ARCH STREET.  OFFICERS FOUND "GMFB AND "GBOYZ" PAINTED ON THE STREET AND SIDEWALK.  ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IS ASKED TO CONTACT THE PALMYRA POLICE DETECTIVE BUREAU. 


FRIDAY JANUARY 15, 2010


On Friday January 15th at approximately 11:10 pm an officer observed a suspicious vehicle occupied by three (3) subjects parked at the corner of West Sixth Street and Delaware Ave. As the investigating officer approached the front passenger door to speak with the occupants he observed the front seat passenger attempt to stuff a clear baggie into his pants pocket. The officer seeing that the bag contained what he believed to marijuana had the front seat passenger step out of the car. The officer took custody of the baggie and the front seat passenger, David Wilmer Jr, 18 years old from Williamstown NJ was placed under arrest for possession a controlled dangerous substance. As officers searched David Wilmer they recovered a loaded 38 caliber revolver.  


 David Wilmer was charged with Drug and Weapon Offenses. Unable to post the required bail David Wilmer was transported to Burlington County Jail. 

Date:10/17/10 1212HRS. Palmyra Officers were called to a residence on Garfield Ave that had been posted for “no Trespassing” and was vacant. The caller saw a black male wearing a sponge bob backpack run through the yard and into the back of the residence. Officers arrived and set up a perimeter around the property. A search was conducted and Gary Boone 20yrs old of Palmyra, was found hiding in the basement under a blanket. Mr. Boone was arrested and charged with Defiant Trespass and Obstruction and was released pending court.

 


Date:10/18/10 4:11am While on routine patrol an alert Palmyra Officer observed two subjects near Legion Ave. One subject immediately ducked behind a building while the other subject was detained. The subject that ducked behind the building was carrying what looked like scrap metal. The Officer checked the area where the subject ran and found scrap metal piled against the wall of a business. He went behind the business and found a larger stack of scrap metal. Assisting Officers heard the second subject running through yards and he was subsequently apprehended. Once Officers identified the suspects they were able to check the residence of Kevin Riley (suspect) and find more scrap metal in his driveway leaning against a vehicle. Police spoke to owner of Brooks roofing, who identified the scrap metal as his and that it had been stored in his fenced in lot at his place of business which is in close proximity to the arrest. Both Michael Butler 53yrs old of Palmyra and Kevin Riley 51yrs old of Palmyra were charged with Criminal Trespass and Theft and released pending court

 

 

 


 


Officers responded to the area of the 600 block of Washington Ave and began checking the area for a white male described by the caller.  An officer found the subject on the 600 block of Lincoln Ave and the subject fled from police.  Officers chased the subject on foot across Broad Street where the subject attempted to loose officers in rear yards on Maple and Morgan Avenues.
 


The subject was found on the 500 block Garfield Ave and was taken into custody.  Further investigation found that the subject had also attempted to break into an additional house on the 600 block of Washington Ave. 


The subject Andrew M. Feole, 24 years old of the 1000 block of S. Broad Street, Trenton.  Confessed to attempting to break into three (3) homes just prior to running from officers.  Andrew Feole was charged with two (2) counts of burglary, criminal attempt of burglary, criminal mischief, criminal trespass and eluding police; he was lodged in Burlington County Jail on $65,000.00 bail.
