Code Enforcement
Code Enforcement Official
Pamela Scott-Forman (856) 829-1096
The Borough of Palmyra has adopted the 1996 BOCA, National Property Maintenance Code, to help effectively regulate and provide certain requirements with regard to the health and safety for existing buildings and structures. Copies of this code are available in the construction office for $25.00
It is the goal of the Mayor and Council to improve the standard of living in the borough and produce a healthier and safer place to live. It is the responsibility of every resident and property owner to insure that they are in compliance with all areas of the property maintenance code.

(1) This past summer an accident occurred in Camden New Jersey that could have been prevented. Three children lost their lives. There may have been ways in which this could have been prevented.
One way to avoid this from happening in Palmyra is to removal of all unregistered, uninsured and uninspected vehicles in the borough. The adopted laws in the borough clearly state that a vehicle that is not registered, insured, or inspected can not be stored on a residential property. Since the beginning of the year it has been my goal to inform people of the existence of this ordinance. Most of the residences that have been sited have been very helpfully to remove the vehicles. But there have been a few individuals that feel they are above the law. I prefer to resolve the problems that may exist in violation on their property. Some residents are ignoring the warnings in hope that the problem will be forgotten. Going to court is a last resort and requires additional work and time by many individuals to process the violation, but it is a tool that is being used.
(2) It is evident that some people within the borough are not familiar with the trash schedules. They are as follows:
