School Information:
Palmyra’s first school was the Cinnaminson Avenue School and was built in 1865. As the community continued to grow there arose the need to expand school facilities. The Cinnaminson Avenue School structure was lengthened in 1877, and a second story was added in 1886. The Spring Garden Street School was built on the land adjacent to the Cinnaminson Avenue School in 1895 for grades 1 through 12, and Palmyra High School was added in 1909. One of the most interesting aspects of the schools was the existence of the connecting tunnel between the two buildings. The Spring Garden Street School Complex was utilized for instruction up until the 1977-78 school year.
